The Jevons Team
Geoffrey Holt is a founder and principal
of Jevons. He was previously founder, Chief
Executive Officer, and member of the Board of Directors at Pet Valu,
Inc.
Prior experience included work for
Loblaw Companies Limited as an independent contractor, and
Vice-President, Distribution at Consumers Distributing Company Limited.
Geoff has unique expertise in retailing, wholesaling,
warehousing, distribution logistics, franchising, marketing logistics,
inventory management, decision management, strategic acquisitions, and
general business strategy. Geoff attended
the University of Toronto, University of Western Ontario, and
Washington University (St. Louis). He taught
courses related to decision theory at Washington University and the
University of Southern Illinois.
Bree Holt is a founder and principal of Jevons.
Bree was previously a member of the legal department at
Pet Valu, Inc. and a member of Pet Valu's Board of Directors.
Although Bree worked on several operating-related
business projects at Pet Valu, her greatest interest and expertise lies
in commercial litigation strategy as well as financial transaction
design and negotiation. Prior to her work at
Pet Valu, Bree was an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis, New York.
Bree graduated magna
cum laude in Economics from Duke
University, cum laude
from Harvard Law School, and is called to the bar
in New York State.
Ed Casey
is Managing Director, Operations at
Jevons. Prior to joining Jevons, Ed was President and Chief Operating
Officer at Pet Valu Canada. In his role at Pet Valu, he was responsible
for Store Operations, Franchise Sales & Operations, Loss
Prevention, Risk Management, Store Inventory and Space Management,
Marketing, Pricing & Promotions and provided oversight of Real
Estate, Information Technology functions, Human Resources and Legal. In
addition, Ed has expertise in business planning and development,
project management, warehousing and systems design. Ed received his
M.B.A. in Finance and Operations at York University and completed his
Honours B.A. in Economics and Political Science at the University of
Toronto.
Dale Winkworth
is Chief Financial Officer and Managing
Director at Jevons. Prior to joining Jevons, Dale was Vice President,
Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Pet Valu, Inc. and held senior
financial positions at Sears Canada Inc. and Superior Propane Inc.
During his career, he has been the financial lead on various
transactions including acquisitions, debt and equity financings,
securitization, foreign exchange and interest rate swaps, privatization
and an initial public offering. Dale is a chartered accountant, having
attained his designation while working at Ernst & Young. Dale
graduated from the University of Waterloo with a bachelor of
Mathematics.
Michael W. Fitzgerald
is a Senior Vice-President and Chief
Legal Officer at Jevons. Prior to joining
Jevons, Michael was Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary and
General Counsel at Pet Valu, Inc. Michael
was lead internal counsel on financial transactions including
acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and privatization.
Previous work included eight years as an associate and
then partner with Roebuck, Garbig, Barristers as well as two years as
an associate at Fogler, Rubinoff, Barristers and Solicitors.
Michael graduated from the University of Toronto with
high distinction before attending Osgoode Hall Law School at York
University.
John Watson is Vice-President, Client
Services at Jevons. Prior to joining Jevons,
John was responsible for all marketing and pricing strategies, as well
as consumer and market research with Pet Valu, Inc.
John completed his Bachelor of Commerce in Management Economics at the
University of Guelph, graduating first in his class and with
distinction.
Brian McKeown is Vice-President, Security
and Loss Prevention at Jevons. Prior to joining Jevons, he was
Vice-President Loss Prevention at Pet Valu Inc. Brian is a private
investigator licensed by Ontario Private Security &
Investigative Services, and is a member of American Society of
Industrial Security as well as the Commercial Security Association. He
has over 30 years experience addressing the full range of corporate
loss prevention and security issues, including fraud investigations,
court appearances, prosecutions, liaison with law enforcement agencies
and court prosecutors, restitution management, workplace injury and
harassment investigations.
Jack Handa is Vice-President,
Information Technology and Systems at Jevons
Prior to joining Jevons, Jack was Chief Information Officer and
Vice-President, Information Technology and Systems, at Pet Valu Inc.
Jack’s duties at Pet Valu included the integration of systems in the
context of corporate acquisitions, oversight of company data centres,
and the execution of I.T.-related contract negotiations. Jack has
developed and/or successfully implemented systems in the areas of:
inventory management, buying/purchasing, POS (point of sale), financial
controls and mechanical process controls. Jack has Bachelor’s and
Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of
Technology and a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from
University of Toronto.

independent contractors specializing in
information technology, human resources and
other disciplines.
